Eye Tracking Solutions from ECT

ECT’s iON-E™ system is a high quality eye tracking system that can be customized to serve a wide range of applications. The device enables full optical control of a variety of computer-based devices. Two tiny cameras in the headset simultaneously observe both of the users’ eyes and a reference beacon, allowing the computer to determine precisely where the user is looking on the screen. The iON-E™ system also senses intentional blinking, and uses that for clicking and dragging in cursor control applications. The iON-E™ is compatible with all Windows programs and can be easily adapted to other software platforms.

How It Works

The iON-E™ eye tracking system works by tracking the users’ precise "gaze" vector in real time. A complex infrared illumination scheme allows the imager and image processor to determine the shape of the user's cornea and the location of the pupil. This data can be used to infer where a gaze vector intersects a screen. A typical application involves the user manipulating the cursor position by simply looking at the desired point on the screen.

ECT builds both high volume and one of a kind eye tracking systems for a variety of companies. If you or your company would like to tap into ECT’s knowledge and experience in optical tracking, please contact Jim Richardson at 541-753-6645.
