ROLL OPENING CREDITS
over shots over beta quan on the burnside bridge in portland.
(looking at the big gaudy neon sign).
Walking around. Past the water fountain on first street.
Through the park on 6th street.

		Beta (vo)
	Everytime I walk around here ... I have the same feeling of...

show some buildings

	I want to see everthing. 
	All of it.

show a tree
		
	Silly, silly trees.

show a woman

	Silly, silly woman.

show a kid

	Silly, silly child.
	But still...
	
Beta's thought is interrupted by a horrondous laugh.

		guy2
	HA HA HA HA HA HA 

Beta turns his head to see two guys.

		guy1
	Ha ha ha ha ha.

		guy2
	Oh shit let's get out of here.
	
guy1 and 2 take off
Beta stands there for a while, then he walks away.
		
		Beta (vo)
	I can never forget my true love.
	I can never seize the appetite for revenge.
	I can never let go of my hate.
	When I find him... when I find him, he is going to pay.

Alan is interrupted again.

		Man
	Did you find it.
	
Alan turns and he see a man and a woman.

		Man
	Try looking over there.

		Woman
	No I found it. It's there.

		Man
	Okay

The Man and the Woman walk off
	
Beta stands there, looking after them as they walk away...
He moves away only when the couple turns the corner, when he can no longer
see them. He keeps on walking.
He stops before an alley.
He turns and looks into the narrow alley.  
Something is bothering him.
He walks into the alley.

		Beta(vo.)
	hmm.... that smell... that special smell.... urine, sweat, and blood
	There is nothing like it.  It's the smell of the arena.
	That smell brings back many memories... so many feelings...
	blood. the lust for blood.
	Just... just let me see something dead.
	Just one carcass.  Maybe a dead rat.
	maybe I'll feel better.

beta's thought is again interrupted...

		Whino
	You'll feel better right away.
	
		Beta
	Right.

Beta walks past a whino sitting on the corner of the alley.
Beta eventually reaches the end of the alley.
He takes a right turn, walking briskley.

All of sudden, he stops.... 

He looks up.  Camera tilts upward with his gaze.
It's a church.  A grand old church.  Beta falls to the ground.
He cries in pain, but there is no sound, just dissonant, fragmented
muscial chords playing in the background....
